As the new year rolls around, we are habitually focused on creating “new year resolutions” as a make it or break it type of goal. With these goals comes the pressure to give up the sweets, hit the gym for the first time in a year, or even stopping our nasty habits we love so much.
I challenge you instead to create goals not based on hard do’s and don’t, but on the foundation of creating a happier and healthier life for yourself. Make it your mission to stop worrying about the small stuff, allowing yourself time each day to reflect on your accomplishments and meditate on the good, and making the effort to show more love to those in your life that deserve it.
These goals can still include going to the gym our cutting the sugar from your diet, but implement these goals as creating a happier and healthier you mentally, physically and spiritually this year. Let these goals flourish in an organic way. Perhaps you didn’t realize takings a few hours a day to focus on what you enjoy doing the most, such as painting, creates a happier you. Or that walk through the park each morning with your dog revitalizes your energy and inspires you for the day.
Take steps in the direction that makes you worry less and focuses on what makes you genuinely happy. Shed your life of the negative and invite/focus on the positive.
Encourage yourself to be the best version of YOU this year!
